Kropf - Bamberger Koestlichkeiten in Bamberg

We had the Christmas goose (4 legs + breast) and were absolutely thrilled. The meat was super tender and the sauce was a dream. For dessert we had the speculoos dream ..... truly a dream. The only drawback was the packaging of the dessert. Due to the high round container, it was not possible to arrange it nicely, I would have wished otherwise. All in all, however, a successful feast. A very big THANK YOU to the Kropf team!

At Christmas, during the lockdown, we treated ourselves to the duck package for 2 from the goiter team, after we had heard many positive things. Our first visit was supposed to take place in person, but that's not possible. The home package was a treat for the palate. Everything was prepared and portioned and we just had to heat everything at home. There was an explanation. I would like to say that it was the best Christmas dinner I've had at home so far. Very tasty and to be recommended at any time. I would like to thank the entire Kropf team and look forward to a personal visit as soon as it works again.

If my plate is taken away from me even though I haven't finished eating ... Two of us ate the same thing and got 3 slices of bread instead of 4 slices of bread .... the praline that was handed to us .... was only half full ... then I have to say ... I expected more from this place

Food is delicious! We had the 7 courses and were more than thrilled with each one. What is in no relation to me is the price of a glass of wine. 0.2l for 10 euros (and we're talking about the cheapest) I can't understand.

Student Wednesday: Unfortunately we were very disappointed. "Especially at a young age, extraordinary cuisine is often a rare luxury. We show that young goes well with sustainable, conscious and exclusive with our student / (professional) pupil package. We cook for every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm our young guests have our favorite soup in the starter, serve a delicious goiter main course and finally our three delicacies for the price of 29.00 € "- so it says on the website and the expectations are accordingly high. Unfortunately, as students, we didn't feel particularly comfortable in this restaurant, had the feeling that for us everything was taking place in a "stripped-down" version and not according to the normal conditions. Starts with an unsightly laminated card. The favorite soup of the house was a very watery lentil soup, little taste, little whistle. In the main course there were ox cheeks or zucchini-lentil pockets (I personally find it unfavorable if the starter is already lentil-heavy). Otherwise, according to my companion, the ox cheeks were not particularly tasty and the jus could not prepare this either. Zucchini lentil bags were spicy, but very curry-heavy. Unfortunately, the vegetables didn't tear them out either. But the icing on the cake was the dessert: according to the waiter, "Student's dessert: 3 small (!!!) scoops of ice cream, which together could make one scoop. Tastes good, but not a particularly good representation of the kitchen. The other desserts looked much more promising - again very "slimmed down" for us. We expected more from the reviews and the website. It wasn't worth 30 € per person to us. Can't recommend this - at least for students - if it always takes place in this slimmed-down variant. The quality of the food may be good, but the taste was definitely not of a high standard - a shame!

What a fantastic restaurant! Creative cuisine, perfectly crafted. Every course a direct hit. A wine list to drink yourself through. Who can should choose the wine accompaniment. In addition, a knowledgeable, attentive, relaxed and very friendly service and a nice atmosphere. It could become my new favorite restaurant if I didn't live so far away. Do the people of Bamberg know what kind of local treasure they have? Apparently yes, because on a cold, rainy Wednesday almost all tables are occupied. Guests across all ages. So, outsiders: Better to call ahead and reserve a table.

Always great in culinary terms. Food, ingredients and wines are excellent. You can spend special evenings here.

Great dinner and excellent service. We did the 7 course tasting menu. The source of the ingredients is local farms and the preparation of the food was delicious. We ate on the patio with our lap dogs and had a delightful time.

Nice restaurant with outdoor seating. Eating as a menu or individual dishes. Upper price segment. Everyone has to know what they want to do with their money. But the palate is happy ?

Excellent cuisine, in our opinion the best in the Bamberg area. Despite all professionalism, goiter always remains authentic. The hospitality never seems fake, you immediately feel welcome and in the best hands.

Fine cuisine in an uncomplicated atmosphere! Here the focus of the kitchen is clearly on fresh regional but then also seasonal ingredients. Finally a change to Schäuferla with dumpling ...

Excellent savoury dishes. If you eat here, order two starters and a main course. But desserts need to go back to the drawing board. They were elaborate but strangely unenjoyable.

Creativity, good service, interesting approach to local ingredients and traditions. Not everything is perfect, but it's definitely a fresh and high quality offer in a very conservative (and a bit boring) place like Bamberg.

Amazing good food. I love that there are vegetarian, vegan and meat options. Also very nice is that they use local ingredients! The service was great! Very elegant place. Nice atmosphere. It seems to be quite busy so I would recommend to reserve a table in advance. We loved our evening here!!!!

Well-executed, modern interpretation of regional specialities. The thoughtful execution extends to the leisurely pace of the tasting menu, which includes pauses long enough to enjoy the three or four courses without feeling overstuffed. The suggested wine matches were very enjoyable and the atmosphere relaxing.
